One day after class, Sarah and I were headed to Carrefour to
get some groceries and we decided for dinner we really wanted to try some good
French cheese, bread, and wine. We went up to the fromagerie and asked the lady
what types of cheeses she preferred in French. She said she loved them all, but
she picked out a few for us to sample and then cut a few slices for us. The
cheese was delicious. We also picked out some nice crunch French bread and
chocolate bars for dessert. Picking out the wine was a whole other story.
Besides having the label of AOC, red wines should be 2009 vintage or older, and
white and rose wines should be much younger. Our teachers also told us that
when the wine is around 4 to 6 euro and most of the bottles are gone that
usually means its also a good wine. We selected a few and headed back home to
taste all of it. I’m pretty sure that was the best dinner I had, had all of my
four weeks in Toulouse.
